K- 24-HOUR COMIC SHOWDOWN @ COSMIC MONKEY COMICS & PNCA Starts 10am, Sat, Oct 18 • Ends 10am, Sun, Oct 19 It’s Cosmic Monkey Comics VS The PNCA! Announcing the return of National 24-Hour Comic Day! At 10 AM on Saturday, October 18th, cartoonists from all over Portland and beyond will converge as Cosmic Monkey Comics takes on the PNCA (Pacific Northwest College of Art) to see which team can produce the MOST pages of quality drawn comic storytelling. It will be a marathon of comic-book magic. A 24-hour comic is exactly what it sounds: one complete comic story (24 pages) completed in 24 hours. Writing, drawing, lettering, and if you’re really ambitious, coloring — it’s all gotta be done on the spot. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the art form. Last year, over 1200 cartoonists took part at events in 17 countries. Either participate (some spots still avaliable!) or come by and cheer them on, we will be open the full 24 hours and beyond!
