Sequential Art welcomes Lukas Ketner back to the gallery, as he brings us “Witch Doctor: Under the Knife”. This exhibit offers a preview of the forthcoming “Witch Doctor” four-issue miniseries by Ketner and writer Brandon Seifert, published by Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”) through Skybound (a divison of Image Comics).
Ketner says that this exhibition will have “…a little of everything from the past three years, from concept sketches to pages and covers, past, present, and a bit of what’s to come.” The exhibit opens on First Thursday, April 7th, with both Ketner and Seifert in attendance at the opening. “Witch Doctor: Under the Knife” is just one of the many events of Portland’s annual Comic Book Month. Ketner and Seifert are also featured guests at this year’s Stumptown Comics Fest.
Open for regular gallery hours Thursdays (3pm-7pm) and Saturdays (11am-5pm) or by appointment.
Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Ketner is a Portland-based professional illustrator and comics artist. His illustration work has earned him a place in the Communication Arts Illustration Annual on several occasions, and his work on the self-published “Witch Doctor” garnered him a nomination for the 2009 Russ Manning Award. Ketner has also worked for Top Shelf Productions and Dark Horse Comics. His previous show at Sequential Art in May 2009 was “Black Gold & Iron Ore”, a collection of his work for Portland band, The Builders and the Butchers.
