Sequential Art Gallery proudly presents the original art from Benjamin Dewey’s “The Tragedy Series”. The exhibit opens this Thursday, December 5th, with the artist’s reception from 6pm to 10pm.
Dewey began his Tragedy Series webcomic in 2011, depicting absurd situations set in the Victorian era. He has since posted hundreds of “regrettable accounts of the less fortunate” in single page comics, garnering much deserved attention by readers and press alike. This exhibition is a collection of the original illustrations selected by Dewey.
A graduate from the Cleveland Institute of Art, Dewey’s comic artwork is influenced by his training as a painter. He based in Portland, and a member of Periscope Studio. He has worked on projects for Marvel Publishing Inc., Dark Horse Comics, IDW Publishing, and others.
The Tragedy Series will be on display throughout the month of December, with gallery hours on Thursdays from 3pm-7pm, Saturdays from 11am-5pm, and by appointment. We will also have extended hours for the holiday season. The exhibit will close at the end of business on Saturday, December 28th.
