Sequential Art Gallery presents “DEAR SKIN – CHAPTER ONE”, an exhibit of brand new work by GRACE PASSEROTTI. The exhibit opens this Thursday, June 4th, with the artist’s reception from 6pm to 10pm.

Passerotti began “Dear Skin”, her first foray into long-form sequential art, as a webcomic about five years ago. She wrote and illustrated 150 pages of the black & white tale before taking an unplanned hiatus from the story. But she remained passionate about the concepts & ideas she was exploring in the story; So much so that she had the words “Dear Skin” tattooed on her chest. When exploring ideas about what to exhibit for her gallery show, Passerotti decided on a rather ambitious revisit of “Dear Skin”. Not content with her original pages from the story, Passerotti has completed the first 30-page chapter in full color gouache paintings for her show. Additionally, she will be publishing the comic online following the opening night for the exhibit:

Passerotti is a freelance artist living in Portland, Oregon, having relocated here with art school friends from Ohio. With a year of art school under her belt, she continues her self-guided art education, currently focusing on figure drawing and working with gouache. Passerotti is extremely prolific, often completing a painting from concept to finished piece within a day, which she often documents using social media. In addition to continuing “Dear Skin”, Passerotti is looking forward to studying oil painting and three-dimensional mediums. You can see more of her work and on Instagram: @gracepasserotti.

DEAR SKIN – CHAPTER ONE will be on display throughout the month of June, with gallery hours on Mondays from 2pm-6pm, Saturdays from 11am-5pm, and by appointment. The exhibit will close at the end of business on Saturday, June 27th.
