About
Art tells a story… What’s yours?
Sequential Art Gallery + Studio opened in September 2005 and is located in Old Town Chinatown in the wonderful city of Portland as part of the Everett Station Lofts. We focus on showcasing local artists who explore the concept of sequential art, which is loosely defined as using consecutive images to tell a story. The gallery strives to provide an installation space in which a variety of narrative artists may tell their stories while we work to raise awareness and acceptance of sequential art’s place within the fine art world. The concept can be applied to a variety of media, including film, animation, and story boards, but is most commonly known in the format of comic books, graphic novels, and web comics.
We are open for most First Thursday art walks, 6pm-10pm, when we hold the opening for each month’s new artist. Our main hours are Saturdays from 11am-5pm; you’re invited to join us on these days for some in-gallery gaming! Board games, cards, paper & pencil… all games are welcome! Got games? Bring ‘em!
